# workbench__load_artifact

> Opens an existing plan, agent or user tool in the pane for editing.

## Behavior

* Saving later replaces that file. An edited built-in agent is saved as a project override.
* Loading a plan over a draft with unsaved changes fails unless `overwrite_draft` is true.

## Input

**kind** `enum\<string\>` *required*

What to open

Available options: `plan`, `agent`, `tool`

**name** `string` *required*

A plan identifier or plan file path, an agent's name, or a tool's name (with or without user\_\_)

**overwrite\_draft** `boolean`

Plans only: load over a plan draft with unsaved changes, only after the user confirms discarding them
