# graph tool migrate

> Rewrite a user tool file to the current tool format

Rewrites one user tool file to the current tool file version. It takes a path rather than a tool name and doesn't connect to MCP servers.

## Arguments

**PATH** `string` *required*

Path to the user tool file

## Options

**--json** `boolean`

Print a JSON envelope instead of text

## Global options

**-v, --verbose** `integer`

Increase log verbosity (-v info, -vv debug, -vvv trace)

graph tool migrate [OPTIONS] <PATH>
```

```bash Example theme={null}
graph tool migrate .graph/tools/summarize.yaml
```
